Dog- and Cat-lovers only - How to get my cat used to new dog?

Do NOT put the cat in the carrier and let the dog sniff her. Always confine the less stressed animal, and let the more stressed animal decide when to come. You can do this in a room if you have a crate large enough for the dog. Otherwise just give it time. It has only been 6 days, and cats can take a while to come around. Just don't try and force it on the poor kitty....you'll only make it worse.
